TEDx Rio+20
TED is a platform connecting ideas and people that help improve everyone’s life. This year, the main goal of TEDxRio+20 is to highlight the human side in the initiatives towards a more sustainable world regarding its three aspects: social, environmental, and economic by developing and discussing new proposals. TEDxRio+20 (www.tedxrio20.com) is independently organized under license from TED (www.ted.com), one of the most important world conferences that has been sharing experiences and inspiring projects worldwide since 1984 and which takes place every year in California. In Rio, the event is organized by Marconi Pereira, Marco Brandão and André Bello, experts in the fields of information technology, communications, and design and whose goal is to invest some of their time to put together a new exchange format among people by disseminating ideas. Personalities like Bill Gates, Al Gore, Bono Vox and Phillip Starck have taken to that stage. Last year alone over 1,000 events took place in approximately 90 countries. In April this year, there were 227 in 56 countries. The event will be broadcasted on live in the website http://www.tedxrio20.com/.
